Keller, Murphy, Ralph win first titles

UPPER SANDUSKY — Winners in the Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association tournament at Lincoln Hills, Upper Sandusky found challenge and skill to merit their titles at the first of the season event held Tuesday. The sponsor of the tournament was Pam Hartman of Milford Center.

Galion’s Logan Keller took the spotlight in the 16-18 division by scoring one-over-par at 73 from white tees to garner six pars, four birdies, and one eagle to seal his win. Chase Brackenridge of Fairbanks shot a 75 for second, while Nathan McMullen of Galion and Parker Steffani of Delaware Hayes shared a tie at 76 to place third. Miles Hall of North Union moved into fifth at 82 to secure top spots in their division.

Maura Murphy of Pleasant honed her skills to top the Girls 13-18, scoring 77 on the par 74 course from red tees. She nabbed seven pars and 4 birdies to secure her win. North Union’s Charlee Brestle shot 96 for the second spot, and Harding’s Rayma Smith moved into third at 99. A tie for fourth at 100 was shared by Liv Gier of Upper Sandusky and Olivia Ross of Olentangy.

Buckeye Valley’s Matthew Ralph topped the 13-15 group from the white tees by collecting four pars to win first at 84. Pleasant’s Dylan Moore took second at 85, while Jaxon Jolliff of North Union picked up third at 93, followed by Sam Snyder of Fairbanks and Alex Streich of Olentangy who tied at 97.

Twelve and under youth played the Lincoln Hills Loop (4 holes played twice plus one), Leaders in the event were Jenson Stover of North Union at 53, Miri Taylor, North Union at 58, Cohen Sisler, Pleasant at 62, Nathan Kirkham, Delaware Christian 68 and Levi Kelso, Elgin 71.
