GALION — Galion High School senior Zaynah Tate solidified her future on Monday afternoon. The senior is heading to Tiffin University to run track, as well as cross country. Tate was joined by friends, family and coaches at the signing event.

Just days before, Tate competed in the Mid Ohio Athletic Conference track meet and won the 800-meter race. Tate is a standout distance runner, one that is versatile, making it easy on coaches.

“I’m excited for Zaynah. I think she’s going to do a great job up there in cross country and in track. I think she’s one of those kids you can put anywhere and she’s going to excel,” said Galion cross country Coach Cindy Conner.

Tate was first team all-conference in the MOAC as a junior on the track.

When at Tiffin, Tate plans to major in business management.

With Tiffin just under 50 minutes from Galion, Tigers fans will not have to travel far to watch Tate run.
