Bulldogs drop 2017 season finale

CRESTLINE — On Friday evening, the Crestline Bulldogs would welcome the Bucyrus Redmen to Hutson Stadium to play in the 2017 football season finale for both teams.

Crestline would do all of their scoring in the first half and Bucyrus kept the points coming throughout as the ‘Dogs drop their week 10 clash with Bucyrus; 46-18. The Bulldogs finish their campaign at an even .500, 5-5. The Redmen complete their season at 2-8 overall and 1-6 within the Northern-10 Athletic Conference (seventh in the league).

After one quarter of play on Friday, the visiting Redmen held a 13-6 advantage before taking on 14 points in the second quarter to Crestline’s 12 points to head into the locker room up at the half; 27-18. As mentioned above, the home team would be held scoreless in the second half of play while Bucyrus tacked on 19 additional points en route to their second victory of the season.

Caleb Moore was all over the field for the ‘Dogs on Friday. Moore carried the ball nine times for 85 yards and a score to go along with catching three of Ty Clark’s passes for 21 yards. Moore would also intercept a Ben Seibert pass and run it into the endzone for the “pick six”.

Offensive statistics for Crestline were: Team- 138 rushing yards (1 TD), 74 receiving yards (1 TD) for 212 total yards (2 TD); Clark- 9/16 passing, 74 yards, TD, 2 INT, 9 carries, 5 yards; Dakota Wireman- 5 carries, 39 yards; Davon Triplett- 1 carry, 8 yards; Jaden Stewart- 1 carry, 1 yard, 1 catch, 2 yards and Ethan Clark- 1 catch, 9 yards.

Defensive stats for the ‘Dogs were: 10 tackles for loss, 3 fumble recoveries, INT, blocked kick.
