On Wednesday, the Galion Police Department responded to a complaint of a possible mobile meth lab at 675 Dawsett Ave., Galion. Officers and detectives responded to the address and observed what appeared to be a mobile meth lab. Assistance was immediately requested by our agency to the METRICH task force to assist with the crime scene. We were also assisted by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and the Galion Fire Department.

A search warrant was executed at the Dawsett Ave. address and evidence was seized indicating the manufacturing of methamphetamine in the garage utilizing the “Shake and Bake” method. METRICH officers were able to safely recover the evidence and make the area safe.

Officers arrested two individuals associated with this investigation:

Korinthia Wireman, 24 years of age from Galion. She is being held at the Crawford County Jail pending charges of Manufacturing Methamphetamine and Drug Abuse.

Dustin Lowe, 28 years of age from Galion. He is being held at the Crawford County Jail pending charges of Drug Abuse.

“These situations are extremely dangerous. The chemicals and procedure associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine are highly volatile. We are very fortunate that we have experts available through our association with METRICH that have the ability to diffuse and clean up the contamination.”

The investigation will be forwarded to the Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office for review and filing of formal charges.
