Food Pantry open today and additional dates
A food pantry is open for Crawford County residents today, Sat., March 12 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Additional dates are Wednesday, March 16; Saturday, March 16; and Saturday, March 19. The food pantry is located at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 746 Cherry St., Galion. Residents must bring a Photo ID and Proof of Residency.
Free forum March 17: America’s Energy Issues
From Citizen to Patriot (FCTP) invites everyone to their free monthly educational forum at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 17th at Galion Grace Point Life Activity Center, 683 Portland Way North. Doors open at 6 p.m. Forum discussion for the evening will center on America’s energy issues and alternatives and how it impacts our communities economically and politically.

Composting facility opens third weekends
The Taylor Road composting facility will be open on the third weekend of each month beginning March 18 and 19 (unless otherwise noted).
Yard waste, including limbs, brush, grass clippings and leaves, will be accepted free of charge to City of Galion and Polk Township residents. Chemically treated wood, such as deck material and railroad ties, stones and concrete are not accepted.
The facility is located at 545 Taylor Road in Galion. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
The 2022 dates are:
March 18 and 19
April 22 and 23 (moved due to Good Friday)
May 20 and 21
June 17 and 18
July 15 and 16
August 19 and 20
September 16 and 17
October 21 and 22
November 18 and 19
