North End Garden Club, Brush and Palette Art Gallery donate new benches to city
GALION —Next time you need a place to sit and rest in Heise Park, you’ll find two new places to rest courtesy of members of The North End Garden Club and the Brush and Palette Art Gallery.
Those two groups donated two new benches for Heise Park on Sept. 1
The two organizations planned a Home, Garden and Art Tour in Galion that was well-enough attended to purchase the new seats.
The groups raised $227 through admissions and proceeds from the event. Those funds had already been earmarked to go toward city park improvements. Members of the organizations decided to purchase benches to be placed near the flower beds located on the east side of Heise Park.
The benches will be permanently installed soon.
