Shelby Hospital upgrades CT scanner

OhioHealth Shelby Hospital has installed a new state-of-the-art Computed Tomography (CT) unit. It produces high-quality images, making it easy for radiologists to read the scans.

The GE Revolution Ascend 128-slice CT scanner produces images in half the time as its replacement. Hilary Russell, the manager of imaging services at OhioHealth Shelby Hospital, said the equipment is the same used at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital.

“The new CT scanner allows us to provide high-quality CT imaging utilizing the same state-of-the-art technology larger hospitals have available, but in the more intimate setting of Shelby Hospital,” Russell said.

The GE Revolution CT scanner was installed in February. Appointments can be scheduled through OhioHealth’s Central Scheduling Department.
