MARION — Area golfers recently competed at Marion Country Club in a Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association event. Mount Gilead’s Steven Street shot three over par to win the event. Galion had a pair of golfers place well, however.

Nicholas McMullen’s six-over-par was good for a runner-up spot. He shot a 38 on the front nine, which only Street’s 35 was better. The Galion Tigers’ golfer followed it up with a 39 on the back nine.

In ninth place out of 23 golfers in the division was Nathan McMullen’s 12 over par. McMullen started out with a 46 on the front nine, then improved to a 43 on the back nine.

For the age 13-15 age group, it was Ethan Krebs taking the title with an 80. Colonel Crawford’s Bryant Berry scored a 96 to finish in sixth place. Fellow Colonel Crawford Eagle Evan Keller was in spot No. 14 in the division.

In the 12 and under age group, Colonel Crawford’s Adam Keller took first place with a 52 on the front nine.

The next HOJGA tournament will be held at Marysville Golf Club on Wednesday, June 21.
