MARION — Galion dropped a heartbreaker to Pleasant in girls tennis action on Thursday. The Lady Spartans won 3-2 in Mid Ohio Athletic Conference play.

Third singles player Emma Ross improved her record to 5-4 this season thanks to a 6-0, 6-0 win against Pleasant.

Second doubles tandem of Zoee Reagen and Keiah Coulter won their match via a tiebreaker, 6-1, 4-6 (10-8).

Taylor Henry dropped her first singles match by a 6-0, 6-0 count.

Kadence Fairchild lost at second singles, 1-6, 1-6.

At first doubles, Lydia McCabe and Emma Maguire lost 2-6, 3-6.

Galion will be back in action on Saturday in tournament play at Madison.

Upper Sandusky 4, Galion 1

GALION — Upper Sandusky defeated Galion 4-1 on Wednesday at Heise Park.

Emma Ross netted the lone win for the Lady Tigers at third singles, prevailing, 6-0, 6-0.

At first singles, Taylor Henry lost, 0-6, 0-6.

Kadence Fairchild fell at second singles, 2-6, 2-6.

At first doubles, Emma Maguire and Keiah Coulter lost, 2-6, 4-6.

At second doubles, Zoee Reagen and Keirra Barnhart lost, 4-6, 3-6.

Galion 3, Bucyrus 2

BUCYRUS — The Galion girls tennis team earned a non-conference victory against Bucyrus on Monday evening. The Lady Tigers prevailed 3-2.

The Galion first doubles team of Emma Maguire and Keiah Coulter won in straight sets, 63, 6-1. Maguire’s record this season is now 3-4 and Coulter’s record improved to 2-5 with the win.

Taylor Henry and Zoee Reagan won their second doubles match in straight sets, 7-5, 6-2.

The third singles matchup determined the outcome of the match in Galion’s favor as Emma Ross defeated her Bucyrus counterpart 6-4, 6-3 to seal the win for the Lady Tigers. Ross’ record this season improved to 3-4 with the win.

At first singles, Lydia McCabe was forced to withdraw due to injury.

At second singles, Kadence Fairchild lost 6-2, 6-1.
