BUCYRUS — The 159th edition of the Crawford County Fair kicked off Saturday with a number of events on the first-day schedule.
The Demolition Derby was the top event in the grandstand, kicking off a week’s worth of events.
Junior Fair Royalty was named and the results will be updated online soon.
Flower and baked good judging took place Sunday morning. The alpaca show and the horse skillathon were conducted, as did the sheep shearing contest. Also, the 4-H Style Revue was held in the youth building.
Finally, the Eric Bowers band entertained the crowd at 8 p.m.
The rides open to the public for this first time today, starting at noon.
There also is a whole lineup of youth activities planned, including the speech contest as well as competitions for demonstrations and illustrated talks
The Breeding Sheep Show starts at 6 p.m., followed by Market Lamb Showmanship and the Market Lamb show.
Finally, the Fair Jam is back again at the Crawford County Fair. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Performances are scheduled by 7eventh Time Down and Among The Thirsty and tickets are still available.
