GALION —A benefit Poker Run on Saturday will benefit the Galion Police Department and supplement its efforts to purchase a police dog.

The Craig Taylor memorial Poker Run begins at the TNT Bar, 529 Sherman St., in Galion. Registration starts at 10 a.m., and kickstands are up at 11:30 a.m. It costs $20 per rider and $5 for passengers.

The Galion Police Department made 28-year-old Craig Taylor (Farrow) an honorary officer March 12, 2014. Craig had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and his lifelong dream was to be a police officer. Craig died April 6, 2014.

Craig’s mother, Pam Tischer, is co-owner of TNT Bar.

“(I wanted) to help the police department for making my son happy before he passed away,” Tischee told the Inquirer in a previous story.

Craig’s sister, Stephanie Taylor, has created a GoFundMe account to help raise money for the K-9 Unit. If you would like to make a donation, visit on the internet
