The Bucyrus Redmen varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams hosted the annual Volley For The Cure match against Buckeye Central Oct. 6. This year’s event raised over $770 for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure fund.
Event attendees had the opportunity to purchase hundreds of bake sale items, as well as many items to choose from for the raffle. Local businesses supporting the event this year included; Salon Oh La La, Kennedy Lane
Salon, Pelican Coffee House, Auto Zone, Walmart, Taco Bell, Little Ceasars, Family Video, U Be Dazzled, Norton’s Flowers, Vanessa’s and Bucyrus Massage Therapy.
“The night was a great success,” head volleyball coach Allysen Coleman said. “There was a great turnout and we received many complements throughout the evening.”
Attendees during the event participated in the serving game, and a Pretty in Pink Contest was held. Clair Schifer was named the winner of the Pretty in Pink Contest for this year’s event.
“We would like to thank everyone that came out and supported the girls and a great cause,” Coleman said.
“We hope to make this an even bigger and better event next year!”
