A year ago, there were more than 1,000 sales in Ohio. There will be big sales and smaller sales. Some encompass many acre. Some fill only a front yard or porch. Others will take over parking lots.
Shoppers also will run into community events and festival as they peruse approximately 500 miles worth of sales and other events.
These sales are being organized by individuals, church groups, historical societies and others.
John Renock of Galion is advertising a basement sale.
According to the website, Galion’s First Presbyterian Church is operating a site, open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
But there are others. Just follow the signs.

There are quaint places to eat along the route and restaurants will be catering to shoppers along the way the next three days, too. Visit one you’ve been to before, or try a new place to stop and rest and visit and grab a bite to eat and something to drink
There are travel guides available with information about the highway and sales and places to eat. Just visit local retailers, including the Galion-Crestline Area Chamber of Commerce, and ask for one.
“These guides can be found along the highway at participating businesses,” said Mike Hocker, the Ohio Lincoln Highway Historic Byway Executive Director. “Just check at local retails, restaurants, attractions, convenience stores and gas stations along the byway.”
