Tennis: Ontario edges Tigers 3-2

GALION — Ontario travled to Heise Park on Friday evening and picked up a 3-2 win — over the Galion Tigers. For Ontario (7-1, 4-1 Mid Ohio Athletic Conference), it was their second win over the Tigers this season. The Warriors won the first match, by the same score back on April 7.

Galion gained a point in the first singles match, when Matt Gimbel defeated Pablo Vidal 6-2, 4-6, 7-5. Tigers were able to win the second signles match as well. Jamie Hollis downed Eli Selser 6-2, 6-4.

Lance Miller, of Ontario, cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win aganst Caden Jutz.

During the first doubles match, Ontario was able to win 0-6, 1-6. The duo of Alex Ellis and Brady Phillips overcame Nate Barre and John Evans.

Warriors were able to grab the second doubles match as well, thanks to the effort by Aiden Frankhouse and Hunter Petit. Frankhouse and Petit defeated Galion’s Adam Geiger and Nick McMullen 0-6, 1-6.

Galion sits at 4-3 overall and 3-3 in the MOAC. Tigers will host Mansfield Senior on April 25, travel to Clear Fork April 26 and host Shelby April 28.
