Girls basketball: Buckettes defeat Redmen

The Buckeye Central girls basketball team defeated Bucyrus 50-39 in Northern 10 Athletic Conference action Friday evening.

The Buckettes shot 15 of 56 and made 19 of 27 free throws, while the Lady Redmen made 13 of 42 shots and 13 of 17 free throws.

Buckeye Central recovered from 13-11 deficit at halftime after winning the second half of the game 39-26.

Jenna Karl led the Buckettes with 21 points, while Emma Studer added 8.

Gabby Seibert led the Redmen with 15 points, while Kelci Simms added 14 that evening.

The Buckettes (3-3, 3-2 N10) will travel to play conference foe Colonel Crawford on Tuesday, while Bucyrus (2-4, 1-3 N10) will host Carey in league play the same day.

Colonel Crawford Eagles, Crestline Bulldogs

Colonel Crawford scored a home victory over Crestline 70-8 in a non-conference game Friday evening.

The Lady Eagles’ record remained the same 2-3 in league play but improved 5-5 overall. The Lady Bulldogs losing streak continues 0-8 this season.

Colonel Crawford will host to play Buckeye Central in league play Friday. Crestline will travel to play St. Peter’s on Tuesday.

Northmor Knights

Northmor defeated East Knox 59-30 in Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference action Friday night.

The Lady Knights’ record improved 4-4 overall and 3-2 in league play.

Northmor will host conference foe Highland on Tuesday.

Wynford Royals

Wynford scored 33-26 home victory over conference foe Seneca East Friday night.

The Lady Royals were up 19-12 at halftime, while the Lady Tigers tied the game at 14 in the second half.

Gretchen Harris led the Royals with 16 points, while Sarah Ogden added seven.

Seina Adachi led the Tigers with 12 points including a 3-pointer.

Wynford (4-4, 3-2 N10) will host to play Upper Sandusky on Tuesday.
