Galion soccer teams defeated in road games

Galion Tigers 1, Bucyrus (Club Team) 8

BUCYRUS — On Monday afternoon, the Galion Tigers boys soccer team headed to Bucyrus to meet up with the Bucyrus Club Team in non-league action.

Bucyrus appeared to be more than the Tigers could handle and came away with the 8-1 victory. With the loss, Galion falls to 0-5 on the season and are currently 0-2 in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference.

Sam Rigdon scored the lone goal for the visiting Tigers squad on the day. In the goal, Stephen Thompson finished the contest with 13 saves and Quinn Boland saved four total shots.

Galion will be on the road on Wednesday, September 13 to meet up with conference foe, the Harding Presidents.

Galion Lady Tigers 0, Mansfield Senior Lady Tygers 8

MANSFIELD — The Galion Lady Tigers met up with the ladies from Mansfield Senior on Monday at Malabar for a non-league match-up.

Mansfield Senior finished the day with eight total goals to shutout the visiting Tigers; 8-0. Galion is now 1-4 overall in 2017 and sit at 0-2 in the MOAC.

The Lady Tigers managed 15 shots on goal against Senior but none of those shots found the back of the net. Drucilla Singer recorded 14 saves on the afternoon.

Galion will play host to the Harding Prexies on Wednesday, September 13 in a league game.
