Rummage sale at First Presbyterian Church

The Woman’s Group at First Presbyterian Church is making preparations for its annual rummage sale. The sale is Friday, July 8, and Saturday, July 9, in the Fellowship Hall, upstairs at First Presbyterian Church, 240 S. Market St. There is an elevator to take shoppers to the second floor.

Jan Mizell, the leader of the group, said the sale has been going on for years, and although it is not quite as large as it once was, is impressive considering the small group of woman to get things ready for the two-day event.

“This has been going on for decades,” Mizell said. “It takes a lot of work, but we do a lot of good with the money we raise.”

Proceeds from the sale benefit “local missions and beyond,” Mizell said.

Sale hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon. Saturday. Saturday will be the bag sale.
