“Mom to the Ex-Amish” presentation Sept. 22
BookMarkers book club will meet on Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. for a special event. In conjunction with book club discussion, guest speaker Brenda Nixon will give a presentation. This event is free of charge and open to the public. Nixon, author/contributor of over thirty-five books and creator of the award-winning blog, Beyond Buggies and Bonnets, will speak about the Amish, specifically the reclusive Swartzentruber Order. Known as the “Mom to the Ex-Amish,” Nixon will describe those she has befriended and helped during their path to live in the “forbidden” English world.
Batman Day at Bucyrus Public Library Sept. 26
Celebrate the world’s most popular superhero on Sept. 26 at the BPL. From 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., conquer craft stations and learn more about the silent guardian of Gotham.
Stories ‘n’ Stitches Book Club meeting Sept. 30
The Bucyrus Public Library’s Stories ‘n’ Stitches book club will be reading Melody Carlson’s Hidden History for their Sept. 30 meeting. Members will also be visiting Our Lady of Consolation Basilica in Carey, Ohio; for those interested in the trip, be at the library by 9:15 a.m. Sept. 30. After visiting Our Lady of Consolation, members can choose to attend a mass or visit the Angeline Gift Shop in Carey.
Bucyrus Public Library Anime Club meeting Sept. 30
The Bucyrus Public Library Anime Club will meet Sept. 30 from 5-7 pm. September’s meeting will feature Hunter x Hunter.
Anime Jr. Club meeting Oct. 14
An Anime Jr. Club has been created at Bucyrus Public Library for those ages 9-13 or in grades 3-6. The club’s first meeting will be Oct. 14 from 4-5:30 p.m. During this meeting, members will watch Avatar the Last Airbender and help determine what film should be shown the following month.
