BHS science club blood drive is Feb. 22

BUCYRUS The Bucyrus High School Science Club will host a blood drive from 7:45 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. in the middle school gymnasium Feb. 22.

All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver ’s license or photo ID are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age or 16 with parental consent must weigh at least 110 pounds and be in generally good health to be eligible to donate blood.

High school students and other donors 18 and younger also must meet certain height and weight requirements.

The Science Club hopes members of the community will come out and show their support and the club reach its goal.

“The Red Cross is always in need of blood donations and we are happy to help,” science club adviser Pat Hargis said. “W e hope the students and community will help us reach our year long goal to help the Red Cross.”
