GALION — After a season opening win at home against the struggling Crestline Lady Bulldogs, the Galion Lady Tigers dropped their fifth straight on Friday, losing 59-14 to River Valley.
Galion is t 1-5 on the year and 0-3 in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference Red Division. River Valley is 3-1 and 2-0.
Dani Schieber was responsible for five of the 14 Tigers’ points in the contest.
The Tigers couldn’t seem to get things going against River Valley. As a team, Galion shot just 4/16 from the interior and 0/11 from the perimeter. Six of the Galion points came from the free throw line where they shot 6/12. The Tigers had 23 turnovers for the game while recording seven steals on defense.
After the first quarter of play, Galion found themselves in quite the deficit, trailing 19-2. River Valley did not let up and took a commanding 32-7 into halftime. The Vikings would go on to outscore the Tigers in the third quarter, 9-3 and the fourth, 18-4 for the 59-14 victory.
Galion takes on Jonathon Alder tonight at home in an MOAC Red Division matchup. League play will continue again on Saturday Dec.17, in Marion, when the Tigers play Pleasant.
