GALION — On Tuesday evening, the Northmor Lady Golden Knights hosted the Highland Lady Scots for a clash atop the Knox-Morrow Athletic Conference.

Northmor would suffer the loss, the Knights’ first of the season, in five sets; 23-25’ 13-25, 25-22, 25-19 and 6-15. The Lady Knights are now 12-1 overall and 6-1 within the KMAC.

Caitlin Thebeault would put together a solid, all-around game for the Knights despite the loss. Thebeault finished the contest with Highland with 12 digs, two solo blocks and four assisted blocks on defense and racked up 14 assists on 69/73 ball handling while going 13/14 serving and earning an ace.

Joining Thebeault in the well-rounded stat line department was Jordyn Zoll. Zoll was a perfect 14/14 serving, 24/24 on the attack and 90/90 setting. These figures translated into five kills and 13 assists. Zoll also earned 16 digs and a solo block on the defensive side of the net for the Knights.

Other offensive stats for Northmor were: Anna Donner- 57/66 hitting, 17 kills; Kelsie Fike- 18/18 serving, 16/17 hitting, 4 kills; Hanna Bentley- 13/14 serving, ace and Leslie Brubaker- 17/21 hitting, 5 kills.

Defensively for the Lady Knights, Cristianna Boggs led the way with 30 digs on Tuesday evening. Donner and Aly Blunk would both chip in 11 digs in the Northmor effort. At the net, Brubaker, Donner and Hope Miracle did their best to stifle the Lady Fighting Scots offensive onslaught. Brubaker wrapped the contest with five solo blocks and two block assists, Donner had four solo blocks and two block assists and Miracle finished the game with one solo block.

Northmor will look to get back on the winning track, both overall and within the conference, when they travel to Fredericktown on Thursday to meet up with the hosting Lady Freddies.
