MANSFIELD — The Northmor Golden Knights baseball team improved to 2-1 with a 23-3 win over Mansfield Christian on Tuesday.

Mostyn Evans pitched the remaining 3.1 innings in the shortened game, allowing just one hit, an earned run, walking two batters and striking out one.

Hayes Bentley and Chris Bood recorded multiple hits for head coach Buck Workman. Evans, Wyatt Reeder, Jordan Wiseman, Kyle Kegley, Austin Wheeler, Kade Sayre, Hunter Mariotti and Conan and Conor Becker all had singles on the day for Northmor.

“We were able to get our starters out after an inning and a half. It was nice to see some of our younger kids get some work,” said Workman of his Knights’ performance.

Northmor will be on the road to open the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference Blue Division play against the Centerburg Trojans on Wednesday, March 29. The Knights will continue MOAC action on Friday when they play host to the East Knox Bulldogs.
