The six remaining schools in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference intend to stay together, while continuing to search for other schools to join.
Administrators including athletic directors of the remaining MOAC schools met Wednesday to discuss the future of the conference, according to a press release from the MOAC. They ultimately decided to stay together and seek additional members and hope to eventually form a conference of eight schools with the possibility to increase to 10.
The current members are Buckeye Valley, Galion, Marion Harding, North Union, Pleasant and River Valley. The decision was confirmed by all six schools on Thursday.
The offer from November to Clear Fork to enter the Conference still stands.
Schools wishing to join the MOAC should submit a letter of interest to MOAC Commissioner Terry Williams by March 8.
A meeting to review applications has been planned for that date.
Applying schools may be asked to be present at this meeting to discuss membership in the Conference.
