Boys basketball: Bucyrus scores first win

The Bucyrus boys basketball team sported its first win for the season after rallying in the fourth quarter to defeat Mohawk 53-45 in Northern 10 Conference action on Saturday.

The Redmen trailed the Warriors 20-18 at halftime.

Bucyrus shot 19 of 46 and made 14 of 23 free throws, while the Warriors made 18 of 48 shots and 6 of 11 free throws.

The Redmen defeated the Warriors in the second half of the game 35-25, scoring 26 of those points in the fourth quarter.

Bucyrus had 38 rebounds and 11 turnovers, while Mohawk had 29 rebounds and 11 turnovers.

Gavin Lewis led the Redmen with 12 points, while Gram Dick and Harley Robinson added 10 points each.

Brayden Dunlap led the Warriros with 16 points.

Bucyrus (1-14, 1-9 N10) will travel to play Colonel Crawford on Saturday.

Colonel Crawford Eagles

The Colonel Crawford boys basketball team defeated Seneca East 73-43 in league play on Saturday.

The Eagles had a 35-17 lead at halftime.

Colonel Crawford shot 22 of 35, making 5 of 6 free throws, while Seneca East made 12 of 24 shots and 4 of 9 free throws.

The Eagles defeated the Tigers 38-26 in the second half of the game.

Colonel Crawford had 29 rebounds and eight turnovers, while Seneca East had 20 rebounds and eight turnovers.

Owen Adams led the Eagles with a game high of 23 points, while Brody Martin added 12 points.

Brady Ferres led the Tigers with 13 points.

Wynford Royals

The Wynford boys basketball team defeated Carey 54-52 in league play on Saturday.

The Royals trailed the Blue Devils with a 31-21 deficit at halftime.

Wynford shot 19 of 45 and made 14 of 22 free throws, while Carey shot 19 of 39, making 8 of 14 free throws.

The Royals defeated the Blue Devils 38-21 in the second half of the game.

Wynford 33 rebounds and 12 turnovers, while Carey had 32 rebounds and 10 turnovers.

Braxton Tea and Alex Crall led the Royals with 14 points each.

Abel LaRoche led the Blue Devils with a game high of 18 points, while Cody Luzader added 14 points.

Wynford (9-6, 7-4 N10) will host to play conference foe Mohawk on Saturday.

Buckeye Central Bucks

The Buckeye Central boys basketball team lost to Upper Sandusky 53-46 in league play on Saturday.

The Bucks trailed the Rams 37-19 at halftime.

Buckeye Central shot 20 of 45 and made 3 of 5 free throws, while Upper Sandusky shot 21 of 37 and made 5 of 10 free throws.

The Bucks won the second half of the game 27-16.

Buckeye Central had 21 rebounds and 12 turnovers, while Upper Sandusky had 27 rebounds and 14 turnovers.

Jacob Shade led the Bucks with 16 points, while Scott Heydinger added 10.

Wes Vent led the Rams with a game high of 21 points, while Kameron Beekman added 20 points.

Buckeye Central will travel to play Ridgedale on Saturday.

Crestline Bulldogs

The Crestline boys basketball team lost to Danville in Mid-Buckeye Conference play on Saturday.

The Bulldogs trailed the Blue Devils 35-22 at halftime.

Crestline shot 18 of 38 and made 9 of 19 free throws, while Danville made 17 of 39 shots and 24 of 36 free throws.

The Bulldogs lost in the second half 26-24.

Crestline had 22 rebounds and 25 turnovers, while Danville had 32 rebounds and 22 turnovers.

Max Anatra led the Bulldogs with 15 points.

Tyler Mickley led the Blue Devils with a game high of 22 points.

Crestline will play Lucas in conference play on Saturday.
