Carruth resigns from Berg men’s soccer program
Heidelberg University Athletic Director Matt Palm announced on Wednesday that he has accepted the resignation of head men’s soccer coach Ryan Carruth, effective at the end of January. Carruth has taken an assistant coaching position at a Division I school on the West Coast.
In his one year at Heidelberg, Carruth led the Student Princes to a 7-9-5 record. In the Ohio Athletic Conference, the Berg was 4-3-2 — finishing fourth in the regular season. The 2015 campaign ended with a 2-0 loss at Ohio Northern in the OAC Tournament semifinals.
“In his time here, Ryan was very passionate about Heidelberg soccer. I wish him well in his future endeavors,” said Palm. “We have started a search to find the next leader of our program.”
Carruth mentored four players to All-OAC performances in his lone season at the helm.
