GALION — Galion boys basketball program is going to be getting some work in during the month of June. Under second year head coach Ryan Stover, the team will be working through their first full offseason with him at the helm.

Under OHSAA rules, high school teams can spend the month of June getting in extra work ahead of the season. There is an allotment of days given during the summer.

On June 6 the team will attend the University of Findlay Team Camp. It will be an overnight stay for the team, and the event will go into the next day. During that time the Tigers will scrimmage against other teams on the Findlay campus.

Varsity and junior varsity will scrimmage at Willard on June 13, then at Buckeye Central on June 14. The Tigers will head to Mount Vernon Nazarene University on June 15 for some additional run.

The following Monday and Tuesday, Galion will again scrimmage at Willard and Buckeye Central. Galion’s final scrimmage is set up for June 29 at Loudonville with Pizza to follow.

An open gym will take place on every Sunday in June, except for Father’s Day.

Galion improved their record from 0-20 in the 2020-21 season, to 5-18 during the 2021-22 season under coach Stover.
