GALION — Jason Guthridge is ready to attack a slate of disc golf events this calendar year.

Guthridge is a 2021 graduate of Galion High School that competes in the Professional Disc Golf Association.

Guthridge will begin his 2022 campaign at the May Day May Day in Dayton, Ohio on April 30.

“I’ve been practicing all off season working on putting and working on consistency,” Jason Guthridge spoke.

Just about a month later, Guthridge will be back in Dayton for The Hazy Shade Open, where he hopes to play well. That event is scheduled for May 21.

Guthridge will have until June 18. to continue to practice his game. On that day he will travel to Chillicothe and compete in The Battle of Chillicothe.

July 3 is the 8th Annual Galion Pickle Run Disc Golf Tournament. Guthridge will be a participant in that event again this year.

“My goals for these tournaments are to get my rating up. I would love to start averaging close to 1000 rated rounds,” Guthridge said.

To reach those goals, the disc golfer knows exactly what he needs to do.

“Making smarter decisions during competitive rounds are really important to playing well and I just want to play to my full potential.”

Guthridge hopes to potentially add a couple more events to his slate this year.
