Girls basketball: Redmen tracks down Eagles in second half

Gabby Seibert led Bucyrus with 22 points for a 56-47 road victory over the Colonel Crawford in Northern 10 Athletic Conference play on Saturday.

The Lady Redmen shot 21 of 40 and made 12 of 18 free throws, while the Lady Eagles shot 17 of 48 and made 11 of 12 free throws.

The Eagles headed to the locker room with a 31-26 lead at halftime but lost the second half 30-16.

Alexus Burkhart led all scorers with 24 points including two 3-pointers for the Eagles, while Jada Klingenberger had eight points and Kristen Vehrs added 6.

For the Redmen, Kelci Simms added 12 points, while Izzy Burling finished with eight.

Bucyrus (2-3, 2-1 N10) will host to play Upper Sandusky (5-2, 3-1 N10) on Tuesday.

Colonel Crawford (1-3, 1-5 N10) will play Ridgedale on the same day.

Galion Tigers

The Galion girls basketball team lost its fourth consecutive game to North Union 59-26 in Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference action on Friday.

The Tigers were down 30-11 at halftime and lost the second half 28-15.

Galion (3-4, 0-4 MOAC) will host to play Marion Harding on Friday.

Buckeye Central Buckettes

The Buckeye Central girls basketball team scored a road victory in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference against Ridgedale 86-31 Tuesday evening.

The Buckettes had 32 of 77 shots, while the Lady Rockets made 11 shots.

Buckeye Central’s girls headed to the locker room at halftime 57-17.

Cortney Pifher led the team with 19 points, while Haley Green added 18 and Isabelle Biglin finished with 16.

For the Rockets, Megan Mulvaine dropped 17 points on Buckeye Central.

The Buckettes (2-2, 2-1 N10) will play conference foe Carey on Tuesday.

Northmor Knights

The Northmor girls basketball team lost to Cardington-Lincoln 45-34 in a conference home game Tuesday evening.

Northmor (3-4, 2-2 MOAC) will host to play conference foe East Knox (1-5, 0-4 MOAC) on Friday.

Wynford Royals

The Wynford girls basketball team defeated conference foe Mohawk 39-37 in an away game on Saturday.

The Lady Royals made 15 of 32 shots, eight of 20 free throws and 23 rebounds, while the Lady Warriors shot 14 of 43, made seven of 16 free throws along with 35 rebounds.

Sarah Ogden led the Royals with 11 points.

Ally Weinandy led the Warriors with 10 points.

The Royals (3-4, 1-3 N10) will host to play conference foe Seneca East on Friday.
