Girls basketball: Redmen fall, Eagles climb

The Bucyrus girls basketball team losing streak didn’t break with a 62-52 defeat from Seneca East in Northern 10 Conference play Friday evening.

The Lady Redmen made 20 of 55 shots, 11 of 24 free throws and 40 rebounds that evening, while the Lady Tigers tallied 21 of 66 shots, 16 of 20 free throws and 49 rebounds.

Kelci Simms led Redmen scorers with 21 points including eight 3-pointers, while Gabby Seibert and Shaina Orewiler added 11 points each.

For the Lady Tigers, Seina Adachi led all scorers with 31 points including nine 3-pointers.

Bucyrus (0-3, 0-1 N10) will travel to play Mohawk on Tuesday.

Colonel Crawford Eagles v. Wynford Royals

The Colonel Crawford girls basketball team had a 40-30 victory over Wynford in N10 league play Friday evening.

Alexus Burkhart led all scorers with 11 points including five free throws and two 3-pointers for the Eagles. Lexi Hoepf had 10 points and four rebounds.

For the Royals, Jade Stuckman finished with seven points, while Sarah Ogden and Gretchen Harris added six points each.

The teams headed to the locker room at halftime 21-12.

The Lady Eagles shot 12 of 29, and made 14 of 25 free throws. The Royals attempted 43 shots but made 13 along with making three of four free throws.

The Royals (2-3, 1-1 N10) will host to play Carey on Tuesday, while the Eagles (3-3, 1-1 N10) will host Seneca East.

Northmor Knights

The Northmor girls basketball team defeated Mount Gilead in Mid Ohio Athletic Conference action 47-26 Friday.

The Knights had 18 shots and made nine of 13 free throws, while the Lady Indians made nine shots and eight of 16 free throws.

Karalee Patterson led the Lady Knights with 14 points including a 3-pointer. Madison Swihart had 12 points and one 3-pointer.

Northmor (3-2, 2-1 MOAC) will host to play River Valley on Tuesday.
