Girls basketball: Buckettes, Eagles win

Buckeye Central

Buckeye Central defeated Seneca East in its season opener 67-57 on Friday.

The Buckettes (1-0, 1-0 Northern 10 Athletic Conference) averaged a lead of 2.5 points per quarter, finishing with a 37-26 by halftime.

Sophomore Jenna Karl lead scorers with 31 points for Buckeye Central including two 3-pointers, while freshman Courtney Pihfer also had two 3-pointers for six points.

The Buckettes played Ashland Crestivew Tuesday.

Colonel Crawford Eagles

Colonel Crawford (2-2, 0-0 N10) scored a 55-32 victory over Plymouth on Saturday. Alexus Burkhart led the team with 15 points, while Jada Klingenberger had 14 and Kristin Vehris tallied 10 points.

The Lady Eagles hosted Mohawk Tuesday.

Northmor Golden Knights

Northmor defeated Fredericktown in Mid Ohio Athletic Conference action with a 49-28 rout Saturday. Karalee Patterson led the team with 16 points, seven rebounds and one 3-pointer, while Madison Swihart had 15 points and two 3-pointers. Karlee Carroll also contributed seven rebounds.

The Lady Knights (2-1, 1-0 MOAC) played Elgin (3-0, 1-0 MOAC) Tuesday.

Wynford Royals

Wynford hosted a 63-40 defeat by Riverdale on Saturday. Alyssa Harrer led the Royals with 12 points including a 3-pointer, while Gretchen Harris tallied nine points.

The Lady Royals (1-2, 0-0 N10) had its first conference game against Ridgedale (0-2, 0-0) Tuesday.
