Kenyon to host free sports clinics for girls in Grades K-8

In its observance of National Girls and Women in Sports Day, Kenyon College’s athletics department will host its annual sports clinics on Feb. 7.

The clinics, which are provided free of charge, are open to girls currently in kindergarten through eighth grade who seek to hone their skills or learn a new sport.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in any of seven featured sports including basketball, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball, track & field and volleyball. The clinics will open at 1 p.m. and last until 3 p.m. Additionally, a reception with pizza, refreshments and snacks will follow the clinics. All activities for Kenyon’s celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day are provided free of charge. Registration for the event will begin at 12:30 p.m.

This marks the 12th year Kenyon College has celebrated National Girls and Women in Sports Day, honoring female athletes of all ages and encouraging all to participate in athletics and fitness activities. More than 1,000 different events will be taking place across the state and the country.
