Northmor girls place third at Galion Cross Country Festival

On the strength of three runners finishing in the top 20, Northmor claimed third place in the Div. III team standings on Saturday at the Galion Cross Country Festival.

Liberty Center won the team title with 73 points. Fredericktown was the runner-up with 101 points and the Knights tallied 111 points. New London and Mount Gilead rounded out the top five. Sandusky St. Mary Cen. Catholic, Centerburg, Seneca East, Colonel Crawford and Bucyrus finished in spots six through 10, respectively.

Kristen Duryea led the Knights with a fifth-place finish, posting a time of 20 minutes, 6.2 seconds. She turned in an average mile time of 6:27.8.

Samantha Peters placed 15th with a time of 20:37.1. Isabelle Ditullio came in 18th place with a time of 20:47.4. Sydney Jennette finished 34th with a time of 21:42.5. Brooke Bennett rounded out the top five placers for the Knights, placing 42nd with a time of 21:56.6.

Anna Reffey was the top runner for Colonel Crawford, finishing in 19th place after posting a time of 20:50.4. Emily Kemper placed 26th with a time of 21:20.3. Courtney Britt came in 55th, posting a time of 22:37.3. Haley Laughbaum finished 66th, recording a time of 23:06.4. Alyssa Spears placed 82nd with a time of 23:50.4.

Mirium Everett was the top placer for Bucyrus, finishing in 34th place with a time of 21:45.9. Other placers for the Lady Redmen were Julia VanVoorhis (44th, 22:04.2), Jessica Campbell (59th, 22:41.5), Desiree Sigler (73rd, 23:17.7) and Lauren Kohler (79th, 23:43.1).

Wynford finished 16th in the team standings, led by Mogran Beaschler, who placed 70th with a time of 23:14.8. Following are the other placers for the Royals: Madison Schieffer (76th, 23:31.8), Annie Fienning (95th, 24:32.9), Katherine Hall (101st, 24:50) and Hannah Weithman (102nd, 24:50.9).

Buckeye Central came in 17th in the team results. Tamara Metzger was the top runner for the Buckettes, finishing 67th with a time of 23:10.6. Following are the other placers for Buckeye Central: Kendra Stahl (78th, 23:40.4), Sidney Long (94th, 24:24.2), Zoe Rutledge (107th, 25:18) and Jordyn Kaple (119th, 26:18.3).
