Northmor spikes Centerburg in four sets

GALION — On Tuesday, the Northmor Lady Golden Knights played host to Knox-Morrow Athletic Conference foes, the Centerburg Lady Trojans.

Northmor would defend their home floor and down Centerburg in four sets; 25-19, 25-13, 21-25, 25-10. The victory moves the Golden Knights to 16-4 overall on the season and moves their KMAC mark to 11-3.

Shortly after earning her 1,000th career kill, Anna Donna picked up her 1,000th career dig during the matchup with the Lady Trojans. Donner finished the contest with 20 total digs to go along with 17 kills on 40/43 attempts. Donner was also 22/22 serving with an ace and 49 of 50 setting with 14 assists to wrap a well-rounded performance.

Macy Miracle also turned in a solid grouping of statistics on the evening, going 16/17 at the service line with four aces, notching six kills all while recording 15 assists on 49/51 setting.

Other stats for Northmor in Tuesday’s victory were: Hanna Bentley- 18/19 serving, 3 aces, 4 blocks; Aly Blunk- 14 digs; Abby Donner- 12 digs; Lily Tate- 10 digs, 4 kills, 8 assists; Leslie Brubaker- 25/31 hitting, 17 kills, 4 blocks and Julianne Kincaid- 4 kills, 2 blocks.

On Thursday evening, the Lady Golden Knights will wrap their regular season by hosting the KMAC champion Highland Lady Fighting Scots. The Scots are 20-1 overall on the season and a perfect, 13-0 heading into their season finale showdown with Northmor.

In the Division III, Central 1 District tournament bracket, the black and gold were awarded the No. 4 seed and will face the girls from No. 18 seeded Columbus Africentric on Tuesday, October 16 at Northmor with action set to begin at 6 p.m. The winner of that contest will move on to the sectional championship game against the No. 11 seed, Elgin Lady Comets on Saturday, October 20. If Northmor wins the semifinals contest with the Lady Nubians, they will host the sectional championship contest with Elgin on their home floor at 2:30 p.m.
