Lady Cougars tied for 10th at IWU Invitational

The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s golf team was tied for 10th at the IWU Invitational, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan (In.) at the Arbor Trace Golf Club. The Lady Cougars totaled a team score of 393 (+101) on Friday.

Junior Brittany Smith (JR/Zanesville, Ohio) finished the day and led the Lady Cougars with a score of 91, which is tied for 38th in the tournament.

In her first match as an MVNU Cougar, freshman Hannah Hamm (FR/Plain City, Ohio) posted a 97, which placed her tied for 52nd in the tournament. Andrea Martin (JR/Pataskala, Ohio) (+26, T56) posted a score of 99, Phoenix Emde (SO/Newark, Ohio) (+33, T64) carded a score of 106, and Danielle Shaver (JR/Uhrichsville, Ohio) (+33, T64) also recorded a 106.

Siena Heights University leads the first round of the IWU Invitational after posting a combined score of 317 (+25) followed by Olivet Nazarene University with a score of 326 (+34). MVNU is tied with Grace College in tenth place.
