In Tuesday’s unscored meet against Ohio Wesleyan University, Kenyon College freshman Quinn Harrigan launched her collegiate cross country career in style. With a time of 16:25.10, Harrigan topped the field of 36 runners and set the tone for the host Ladies on the four-kilometer course.

Not far behind Harrigan in the season-opening race was Kenyon classmate Andrea Ludwig, who clocked in at 16:36.20 to take second place. Lily Valentine, another Kenyon first-year, rounded out the top-10 finishers with a time of 17:19.50.

In between Ludwig and Valentine, Kenyon saw junior Claire Naughton claim fifth place (16:43.90), senior Samantha White take seventh place (17:08.20) and sophomore Susannah Davies take ninth place (17:19.00). In all, Kenyon runners captured six of the top-10 spots, as well as 10 of the top-17 spots.

The entire Kenyon roster did not compete in the race, which was originally scheduled to be a tri-meet and included Mount Vernon Nazarene University. MVNU, however, withdrew early Tuesday due to administrative issues with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
