Buckeye Valley topped Galion in boys golf action on Thursday at the Galion Country Club. The Barons won by 10 strokes, 169-179.

Nick Kruger led the Tigers, shooting 41 against Buckeye Valley. Jack McElligott shot 44. Brevin Owens finished his round at 47 and Kaleb Harsh fired 48. Mitch Dyer shot 51 and Sam Rigdon ended the day at 56.

River Valley 168, Jonathan Alder 178, Galion 189

River Valley’s Cade Orewiler shot 34 to win the match medal and lead River Valley to victory in a tri-match against Jonathan Alder and Galion on Wednesday at the Galion Country Club.

The Vikings finished with a score of 168. The Pioneers shot 178 as a team and Galion finished at 189.

Mitch Dyer was the top player for the Tigers on Wednesday, shooting 45. Nick Kruger carded 47 and Jack McElligott finished at 48. Brevin Owens shot 49 to give Galion four players with scores in the 40s.

Colten Skaggs and Sam Rigdon each shot 51 for the Tigers.

“They’re getting better with some aspects, but they now need to learn how to finish their round,” said Galion head coach Bryce Lehman. “We played (holes) number eight and number nine a combined 18 over par as a team. That cannot happen if we expect to win. We need to learn to stay focused for nine holes. When we do, out scores are gonna drop.”

Colonel Crawford 177, Ridgedale 199

Colonel Crawford’s Noah Trease and Ridgedale’s Mitchell Reasner shared the match medal, but it was Trease’s Eagles that claimed victory in a non-conference boys golf match played Tuesday at Valley View Golf Club. The Eagles prevailed, 177-199.

Trease and Reasner each shot 40. Trease made par on five of the nine holes. Reasner had a birdie on the second hole and shot par on three other holes.

Including Trease, five Eagles finished with scores in the 40s on Tuesday. Nick Gremling shot 42. Isaak Sulser ended his round at 47. Jake Roesch and Austin Strouse each shot 48. Eli Shultz finished with a score of 54.
