GALION — There were three things that happened on Wednesday, September 20 involving the Galion Tigers golf team.
First, the Tigers honored their two seniors, Aaron Barnhart and Mitch Dyer. Second, Galion hosted the Pleasant Spartans at Sycamore Creek Golf Course for their final dual of the 2017 regular season. Lastly, head coach Bryce Lehman’s squad defeated Pleasant by a tally of 168-173 to finish the year a perfect 14-0.
Dyer would turn in the best scorecard on Wednesday for the home team, firing a nine-hole score of 40 in the victory. The freshmen duo of Spencer Keller and Matthew McMullen finished behind Dyer, shooting a 42 each. Jack McElligott rounded out the scoring for Galion with a 44 on the day. Matt Kingseed shot a 45 and Kaleb Harsh a 52.
With the regular season complete, the Tigers will travel to Apple Valley in Howard on Thursday to compete in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament.
