Lady Knights volleyball continues perfect start

GALION — The Northmor Lady Golden Knights welcomed the East Knox Lady Bulldogs to their home gym on Thursday evening for a Knox-Morrow Athletic Conference volleyball match-up.

Northmor had an undefeated season on the line and when all was said and done, that streak continued as the Knights defeated the Bulldogs in three sets; 25-14, 25-12 and 25-18. The Lady Knights are now 7-0 overall on the season and 4-0 in the KMAC.

Defense led the way for the home team on Thursday, most notably in the blocks category. Hope Miracle recorded a total of six blocks against the visiting Lady Bulldogs. Teammates Leslie Brubaker and Anna Donner posted five and four blocks, respectively. Also on the defensive side of the ball, Cristianna Boggs notched 10 digs while Aly Blunk turned in seven.

On offense, the usual names were in full force against East Knox.

Donner finished the night with 12 kills on 24/24 hitting. Brubaker was nearly perfect on the attack, going 19/20 and netting 12 kills as well. Kelsie Fike wrapped the contest at 17/18 with eight kills. Jordyn Zoll also had three kills for the home team while also recording 11 assists. Caitlin Theabeault led the way with 18 total assists for the Northmor squad.

As for the service line, the Lady Knights got a 15/16 from Boggs, good for an ace. Zoll was perfect on the service, turning in an 11/11 performance and recording two aces. Donner and Lily Tate also notched an ace apiece for the home team in their victory.

Northmor will be back at it on Saturday, September 9 when they play an early morning home game against Westerville South. A trip to Colonel Crawford awaits the Knights on Monday, September 11 and on Tuesday, Northmor will be back in KMAC action at Mount Gilead.
