Eagles golfers fall to Rockets

BUCYRUS — The Colonel Crawford Eagles golf team made the short trip to Bucyrus’ New Winchester Golf Course on Tuesday, August 29 to meet up in Northern-10 Athletic Conference action against the hosting Ridgedale Rockets.

Crawford is still looking for their first win of the 2017 after Ridgedale prevailed as the winners; 162-208. The Eagles now sit at 0-5 overall and 0-2 within the N-10.

Eli Shultz shot the low score for the visitors with a 47 over the nine holes. Andrew Daubenspeck (50), Gavin Feichtner (54) and Maci Risner (57) rounded out the kept scores for the Eagles. Andrew Brause shot a 56 for the match while Laci Hillman, Andrew Johnson and Marcus Fagan all fired a 61. Jerimaih Colleen turned in a score of 63 on the afternoon.

Medalist for the dual was Ridgedale’s Jesse Schertzer, shooting a 37 on the day with teammate Mitchill Reasoner right behind at 38. Grant Park finished with a 43 and Sam Leech a 44 to wrap the Rockets’ scoring. Brock Williams recorded a 44 as well and Merrick Cooper turned in a 52-shot performance for the home team.

Next up for Colonel Crawford is a home match at Valley View against N-10 foe, the Buckeye Central Bucks. These two will meet on Tuesday, September 5.
