Lady Golden Knights net first KMAC win

GALION — The Northmor Lady Golden Knights opened their Knox-Morrow Athletic Conference season on Thursday evening when they played host to the Lady Freddies of Fredericktown.

Northmor would go on to defeat the visitors in straight sets; 25-20, 25-16 and 25-14 to improve to 3-0 overall on the season and 1-0 in the KMAC.

Anna Donner was once again all over the court for the Lady Knights. From the service stripe, Donner finished the contest at 13/13 serving with an ace. At the net, Donner recorded 13 kills on 39/43 hitting. Defensively, she notched nine digs and earned three blocks.

Kelsie Fike, Jordyn Zoll and Caitlin Theabeault had well-rounded games for the home team as well. Fike was 23/25 serving with an ace. Zoll served up an ace on 11/12 attempts and also contributed 20 assists. Theabeault notched two aces from the service line, had eight assists and was 15/16 hitting for six kills.

Other offensive stats for Northmor: Hope Miracle and Leslie Brubaker- 4 kills apiece.

Other defensive stats for the Knights: Miracle- 5 blocks; Brubaker- 2 blocks; Cristianna Boggs- 13 digs and Aly Blunk- 11 digs.

The season continues on for the Northmor squad with a non-league, road contest on Saturday against the Lady Tygers of Mansfield Senior. League play picks back up for the Lady Knights on Thursday, August 31 when they travel to meet up with the Danville Lady Blue Devils.
