Lady Knights drop two softball games to Clear Fork

BELLVILLE — Northmor dropped both games of a double header to Clear Fork on Saturday in non-league softball action.

In game one, the Colts won 8-1.

The Knights outhit the Colts 7-5, but couldn’t seem to get theit baserunners home. Also, Northmor had four fielding errors.

Shelbey Lilly fired all six innings in game one, allowing five hits and eight runs (six earned), while walking five batters.

Lily Tate and Lydia Farley were two bright spots in the Northmor lineup. Tate belted two doubles and a single in game one. Farley had a single, a double and drove in Cristianna Boggs for the Knights’ lone run. Boggs reached base on a single, her only hit of the game. Aly Blunk also singled.

Clear Fork won the second game 7-4.

Lilly was once again the pitcher of record, taking the loss while throwing all six innings, allowing 10 hits, seven runs (four earned) and giving up one walk.

Tate had the only multi-hit game, recording a single, a double and an RBI. Boggs notched a triple and scored two runs, Lindsey Wiseman scored once, Blunk had a double and two RBI and Andrea Weis reached on a single and later scored.

Northmor hosts Galion today a final tune-up before tournament action. On Tuesday, the Knights will hit the road for their openin- round game against Liberty Union. A make-up game at Highland is scheduled Friday, May 12.
