COLUMBUS — On Sunday, area baseball and softball teams found out their openin- round postseason matchups as the tournament draws were made.
GALION TIGERS
Baseball: The Galion Tigers will be in the Shelby District in the Division III tournament as the No. 3 seed. The first opponent that they will face is the No. 7 seed Western Reserve Roughriders. The two teams will meet up on Friday, May 12, in Galion at 5 pm.
Softball: The Lady Tigers, like the baseball team, received a first-round bye as the No. 3 seed in the Division III Lexington District. They will play the winner of the game between No. 2 seed Margaretts and No. 10 seed Bucyrus. That game will take place at the higher seed’s home field, also on Friday, May 12, at 5 pm.
NORTHMOR GOLDEN KNIGHTS
Baseball: Northmor’s baseball squad earned the No. 10 seed in the Division III Central District and will meet up with the No. 13 seeded Utica Redskins. This game at Northmor on Monday, May 8, at 5 pm. Northmor also received a first-round bye for this bracket.
Softball: The Lady Knights are the No. 14 seed in the Division III Pickerington 2 District, and will play at No. 9 Liberty Union on Tuesday, May 9, at 5 pm. The winner of that contest will then travel to Utica on Thursday May 11 to meet up with the Lady Redskins at 5 pm.
CRESTLINE BULLDOGS
Baseball: The No. 6 seed Crestline Bulldogs will host No. 7 seed Wynfor in the Division III Galion District on Tuesday May 9 at 5 pm. The winner of this contest will play the winner of No. 4 Ridgemont and No. 13 Mansfield Christian at the higher seed’s home field on Thursday, May 11, at 5 pm.
Softball: Crestline’s softball team earned the No. 3 seed in the Division IV Shelby District and was awarded a first-round bye. They await the winner of the game between the No. 5 seed Seneca East Lady Tigers and the No. 12 seed St.Paul Lady Flyers. The second-round matchup will take place in Crestline on Thursday, May 11, at 5 pm.
COLONEL CRAWFORD EAGLES
Baseball: Colonel Crawford’s baseball team will also be playing in the Division III Galion District as the No. 5 seed. They will host the No. 12 Lucas Cubs on Tuesday, May 9, at 5 pm. The winner of that contest will then hit the road to face-off against the No. 3 seeded Plymouth Vikings, in Plymouth, on Thursday, May 11, at 5 pm.
Softball: The Lady Eagles are the top-seeded team in the Division III Lexington District and earned a first-round bye in the tournament. Crawford’s first game will be at home against the winner of No. 8 Huron and No. 9 Fostoria. The Eagles will play on Thursday, May 11, at 5 pm.
