Beginning August 11, Kenyon College men’s basketball player Tim Connolly will join a Global Sports Academy (GSA) team for an eight-day goodwill tour through Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and England.

Connolly, along with a handful of NCAA Division I, II and III players, will embark on a journey across Europe and play six games while by being exposed to different cultures, languages and environments. Team members will also be performing community service while abroad.

A rising senior from San Francisco, California, Connolly was Kenyon’s most electric scorer last season. He started the year on fire, scoring double figures in nine of 10 games. The six-foot shooting guard finished the 2014-15 campaign with a scoring average of 14.8 points per game, which ranked ninth-best among all players in the North Coast Athletic Conference. He also ranked second on the team in rebounds (4.7 rpg) and third in free throw percentage (.775).

Started in 1991, GSA annually arranges tours for college and youth teams from the United States and countries around the world to promote international competition and goodwill. As a not-for-profit organization, its mission is to create and arrange athletic competition between equally matched teams at all international levels, promote international goodwill and a better understanding between nations through sports.
