Lady ‘Dogs hold on for a home softball win

CRESTLINE — Crestline held on for a 3-2 win over Loudonville on Wednesday in a Mid-Buckeye Conference matchup

Sarah Toy got the win for the Bulldogs, working six innings while throwing 118 pitches. Toy allowed seven hits, two earned runs, walked four batters and struck out seven for the game.

The duo of Dennesa Baker and Desiree Naveja would record multi-hit games for the Lady ‘Dogs on the day. Baker had a single and a double and also scored a run and Naveja belted a pair of singles, drove in a run and stole a base.

Lydia Tadda had a single, a run scored and a stolen base for Crestline while teammate Madison Huber recorded a single and an RBI. Samantha Wilhite and Michaela Jeffrey had a single apiece and Courtney Swanger stole a base and scored a run to round out the offense for Crestline.

On Thursday, the Crestline softball squad will play the Lady Redbirds again, this time in Loudonville. After a week long break, the Bulldogs will be back in action on Thursday May 4 at Danville and then will host Danville the next day.
