Fall baseball league coming to Galion
The North Central Ohio Fall High School Baseball League is scheduled to begin play this fall. The season will run from Aug. 30 to Oct. 11.
The league is open to players ranging in age from incoming freshmen up to incoming seniors. Registration fee is $110 per player and includes team shirt. The deadline to register is Aug. 22.

Marion Merchants travel baseball tryouts Aug. 1-2
Tryouts for the Marion Merchants travel baseball teams will be held Aug. 1-2 at 879 N. Prospect Street in Marion.
Following is the schedule for tryouts: 8U — 8-10 a.m, Maynard Field at Lincoln Park; 9U — 12-2 p.m., Maynard Field at Lincoln Park; 10U — 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Maynard Field at Lincoln Park; 11U — 8-10 a.m., Scott Field at Lincoln Park; 12U — 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Scott Field at Lincoln Park; Open — 12-2 p.m., Scott Field at Lincoln Park; 13U — 12-2 p.m., Lincoln Field at Lincoln Park (Sunday only); 14U — 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Lincoln Field at Lincoln Park; 15U — 4-6 p.m., Lincoln Field at Lincoln Park; 16U — 2-4 p.m., Lincoln Field at Lincoln Park.

Ashland C.C. charity scramble Aug. 8
Ashland Country Club is hosting a charity golf outing on Aug. 8 to benefit United Way of Ashland County.
The tournament is a four-person scramble with three flights: men, women and co-ed. The entry fee is $400 per team and includes a tee-off breakfast and brats and burger luncheon.
Prizes will be awarded to the flight winners. An auction to benefit United Way will also be held.

Malone 5K and Pump & Run set for Oct. 3
The Malone University 5K and Pump & Run is scheduled for Oct. 3 at the Canton campus. Registration forms are available at www.runtoyouracing.com or by contacting Joyce Byler at 330-471-8486 or email [email protected]
Participants may compete in the 5K run only, or combine a bench press (the pump) and a 5K (the run). Runners will earn a deduction from their race time relative to the number of repetitions they are able to pump. Overall and age group prizes will be awarded as well as t-shirt giveaways and more.
