Colonel Crawford tops Wynford

NORTH ROBINSON — After losing two in a row, the Colonel Crawford boys basketball team won last Friday at Mohawk. The Eagles were in action last Saturday as well when they hosted conference foe, the Wynford Royals. Crawford would pick up their second victory in two days, defeating the Royals by a final score of 65-44.

With the victory, Crawford improves to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in the Northern-10 Athletic Conference play. Wynford now sits at 2-2 on the season and 2-1 in the conference.

Colonel Crawford’s leading scorer for the game was Brody Martin. Martin scored 21 points on 9/11 shooting including 3/5 from three point range. Jordan Fenner, Harley Shaum and Gavin Feichtner all had 12-point games for the Eagles. Cameron McCreary would add eight assists on the evening. Heath Starkey would grab 14 rebounds and record four blocks for Crawford.

The Eagles would shoot 25/39 from the field against the Royals, including 8/15 from the perimeter. From the free throw line, Crawford converted on eight of ten attempts. Other stats include: 29 total rebounds, 19 assists on 25 baskets, a steal, five total blocks and 15 turnovers.

Crawford will be back in action on Tuesday Dec.20 at Seneca East for an inner-conference matchup. On Friday Dec.23, they will host another N-10 rival, the Bucyrus Redmen.
