HOWARD — Northmor’s girls basketball team was on the road last Friday night to meet with the East Knox Lady Bulldogs in Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference Blue Division play. The Golden Knights would be victorious against their conference foe, 47-26.

With the win, Northmor improves to 2-2 overall and 2-1 in league play.

The Golden Knights came out of the gate strong to dominate the first quarter, 17-5. They showed no signs of letting up as they went into the locker room at halftime with a 29-13 lead. East Knox couldn’t seem to get things going, scoring just a single point after the intermission while Northmor mustered just five. Heading into the fourth quarter, the Lady Knights lead East Knox, 34-14. The Bulldogs started to get it going in the fourth but it was too late.

Leading the Northmor scoring attack was senior lead Maddie Swihart with 18 points. Swihart recorded two-two pointers, four-three pointers and two free throws. Cristianna Boggs contributed 14 points in the win on three-two pointers, two-three pointers and two free throws. Boggs also had five steals for the game. Brooke Bennett crashed the boards for seven rebounds on the night.

Northmor will host the Elgin Comets on Thursday Dec.15 and travel to Fredericktown on Saturday Dec.17 to play the Freddies. Both upcoming games are MOAC Blue matchups for the Golden Knights.
