CRESTLINE — The Crestline Bulldogs boys basketball team finds themselves starting the 2016-2017 with an 0-3 record after being defeated by Mid-Buckeye Conference rival, the Kidron Central Christian Comets. The Comets were in Crestline on Saturday and handed the Bulldogs a 51-38 defeat.

The Bulldogs found themselves with a slim lead after the end of a quarter, 10-7 but were unable to keep the momentum into the second period. Central Christian put up 19 points in the second to Crestline’s three points, taking a 26-13 lead into halftime. The second half saw the teams both scoring 25 points but it was not enough for the Bulldogs to gain their first win on the early season.

Ty Clark did his best to try and propel Crestline to a win, scoring 21 points on 7/8 shooting from the field and 7/14 from the free throw line. He completed a double-double, grabbing 11 rebounds and also added five steals on defense. However, the Bulldogs shot poorly from the field and the charity stripe as a team and finished the game with 30 turnovers.

Crestline will welcome the Mount Gilead Indians to town on Tuesday Dec.13 to battle it out in a non-conference game. On Saturday Dec.17, Crestline will again be the home team, this time playing the Lucas Cubs in league play.
