Northmor Lady Knights bring experience and size to the court

GALION — Last season, the Northmor Golden Knights’ girls basketball team finished slightly above .500 at 12-11 overall and 9-5 in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference Blue Division. This was good for third in the league and was quite the improvement from 2014-2015 which saw Northmor finishing fifth in the league with a 5-9 record and 8-15 overall. Head Coach Daryl Uhde is expecting even bigger things from his squad this season.

His Lady Knights will be comprised of some size and plenty of experience. Of the 12 girls on the roster, five of the girls suiting up are returning letter winners.

Seniors on the team will be a big part of any success that Uhde and the Knights have this season. Lindsey Wiseman, Karalee Patterson, Maddie Swihart and Lydia Farley are all part of the returning letter winners for Northmor. Wiseman was named honorable mention all-conference last year. Patterson earned second team all-conference honors and Swihart grabbed a spot on the MOAC Blue first-team. Junior Cristianna Boggs will also be back as a returning letter winner for Uhde from last season.

Rounding out the roster for the Golden Knights are: senior Megan Simpson; juniors Hope Miracle, Brooke Bennett (6’1”) and Becca Duckworth; sophomore Addie Farley; freshmen Macy Miracle and Leslie Brubaker (6’2”).

MOAC Blue play will pick up on Thursday Dec.1 when they hit the road to take on the Cardington Pirates.
