OH-WAY and Northmor sponsoring wrestling camp, tournament

GALION — For the second year in a row, Daniel Reyes, from OH-WAY wrestling, and Northmor head wrestling coach Scott Carr are bringing a wrestling camp to Galion.

The Northmor Fall Champ Camp will be Saturday Oct. 22 and Sunday Oct. 23 at Northmor High School. Reyes and Carr are bringing in special guest clinicians to provide wrestling education to campgoers.

This year, two-time All-American and 2015 National Champion Nathan Tomasello will be the guest, alongside 2016 National Champion Myles Martin. Tomasello and Martin wrestled for The Ohio State University and head coach Tom Ryan. The Champ Camp is for all ages and is $55 for the two-day event.

Reyes, who is the northeast tournament director for OH-WAY wrestling is also bringing to town the third annual Galion Northmor Fall Kickoff Open. This tourney, sponsored by OH-WAY and Northmor wrestling, is open to kids in school, ages 5-19. There will be a girls division for the tournament as well.

The Kickoff Open, also at Northmor High School, and has become a national tournament and has seen wrestlers from Michigan, Indiana and West Virginia making the trip to compete. The entry fee for this tourney is just $20.

Reyes states that, “OH-WAY wrestling and coach Carr believes in having opportunities like these for wrestlers to get more experience and having fun in the sport that they love…we believe that our youth is the future.”
